I'm glad you had a good time, even if there were a couple small letdowns!
I really enjoyed our big con in the area here when I was a teen/early 20s, but I feel like it's probably gotten too big for me to have as much fun anymore. It sounds like it's just kept getting bigger and bigger. (Not to the scale of something like Comicon or DragonCon or anything, but sort of a destination con for a lot of people in surrounding states now.) The small ones were always a lot of fun, even when they had a handful of issues. (Like the hotel double-booking the con and a wedding, or AV issues with some of the panel rooms, or things like that.) It makes me feel very nostalgic.
